Was so excited to see a Caro title in the book suggestions and, from the date, thought it was a new title. Clicked through and purchased before noticing that it was only an excerpt. Still an absorbing read, but should and could have applied the $2 toward purchasing THE PASSAGE OF POWER.

I read this little story in an hour, and was very disappointed that no relevant information was revealed. Almost every page either started with a repetition of the last sentence of the previous page or with missing sentences.

Caro succeeds in capturing the mood and words behind the iconic photo of the swearing in of LBJ on Air Force One as well as capturing a moment in time that is enmeshed in American history while disarming the reader with slices of who LBJ was and did before the assassination and after. Flawlessly executed.
