Excellent edition

There are lots of editions of Leviathan around, so why buy this one? The things the editor, Ed Curley, has done to make this edition accessible yet scholarly, like:

1. Updated spelling and punctuation. Although I personally miss Hobbes' original spelling (see the Penguin edition for that), as a teacher I appreciate Ed's making it easier for beginners and ESL students to read Hobbes' words.

2. Index. Most editions do not have one.

3. Glossary. Hobbes used many terms that are now archaic, and Ed's brief but clear glossary helps clarify the text.

4. Ed's Introduction. Curley is one of the most careful and knowledgeable commentators on Hobbes, and he briefly but expertly introduces some of the major themes of the book.

5. Latin variants. Hobbes wrote Leviathan in English and in Latin, and there are some interesting differences between the two versions. Ed presents many of these in the footnotes, plus he includes English translations of the Appendices of the Latin version.

Cute, Sexy, and Silly

Somewhere between 3.5 and 4 stars because while the writing was good, there were quite a few typos/editing errors that should have been caught and fixed. However, I won't let that stop me from enjoying what was a ridiculous and yet sexy story. I say ridiculous because it's a little over the top at times and the idea of mpreg in itself is silly. But then, I'm a Stephanie Plum fan so ridiculous is not a criticism by any stretch. I love a book that can go from intense to silly to sexy over the course of a few pages, and Omega's Fate definitely does that. I will read more of this series because it's too fun to give up on now.

Not sure I was reading the same book as everyone else...

Think there probably is a good story in there somewhere, unfortunately, the bad grammar and typos completely put me off reading further and after a couple of pages, I gave up.

Good Start

This was a short quick read. Ethan one of the humans hired to entertain the werewolves, goes into the event with only one expectation: getting paid for having fun. The prospect of maybe meeting an Alpha female is only a bonus. Max is a successful Alpha male who is getting a lot of pressure to find a mate so he can lead his pack and to do that he must provide cubs which means he needs to find a female only he is interested in them because he is gay. While this book was well written I felt that it was too quick and I wanted a lot more out of it, but this is a first book in a new series and I am looking forward to reading the next book as both Ethan and Max get a surprise.

An Excellent Addition to Stan's Other Books

This book is a great addition to Stan's other offerings. In this book, Stan presents a few more recent Bigfoot sightings and experiences, but mainly he presents a lot of cryptid/alien being sightings and experiences. As he does in his other books, Stan merely presents the eyewitness accounts for readers to consider and draw their own conclusions. If you liked Stan's other books or if you like reading about cryptid encounters, then this is a book that you should read.

An Interesting Read

Stan Gordon gives us the facts of a number of reported sighting of weird things in Pennsylvania. He avoids speculating on the causes and presents case where he has, for the most part, personally gathered information. An interesting read, that is made all the better by the lack of far out theories.

I loved reading this book!! All very detailed, well investigated eyewitness reports of all kinds very strange Pennsylvania creature encounters. From Bigfoot to lake monsters to Gargoyles! Pennsylvania is truly the land of the strange and there is no better researcher to put this all together like Stan Gordon. He is been out in the field (not just behind a computer) investigating all these incredible accounts for 56 years..Pennsylvania is truly a hotbed for this stuff..we know because Stan Gordon documented all of it. He is a true American Pioneer.
