About the Author
Sarina Chugani Molina serves as a faculty member in the Department of Learning and Teaching at the University of San Diego. She has experience working with English Learners from a multitude of backgrounds both within the United States and in International Contexts. She is the program coordinator and instructor of graduate level courses in the M.Ed. in TESOL, Literacy, and Culture program. She has authored English as a Foreign Language textbook series entitled, "Visual English" and most recently, "English for Global Citizens." Her research interests include teacher development in TESOL, teaching English as a global language, and addressing the social and educational inequities for students from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.

Dr. Molina provides a practical and hands-on approach to lingusitics

Dr. Molina has done a wonderful job taking the most important aspects of linguistics for ESL teachers and presenting them in a succinct manner. There are many great linguistics books out there, but they are very lengthy and cover too much ground. Dr. Molina gets to the point in this book without sacrificing any details. At the end of each chapter there are activities for readers to test their knowledge and apply what they have read to real life situations. I have read many linguistics books in the past that simply go too in-depth without connecting linguistics to common classroom problems. I am using this book in our introduction to linguistics course in our M.Ed. in TESOL program. I am happy to have a book that provides students a practical approach to linguistics.

For anyone, pre-service and in-service teachers, as well as all students of English as a second or foreign language, Dr. Molina's book serves an an invaluable guide. This book clearly and concisely captures the essential theories of linguistics and focuses on each of the main features: phonetics, phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, and pragmatics. Each chapter explains one of the linguistics features, providing the most current and relevant theories and research in the field, followed by classroom exercises as well as useful classroom applications and activities. I wholeheartedly recommend this book as it proves to be a necessary tool in any TESOL related field.

I recommend this book for anyone who wants to learn more about the world of language, especially teachers. It was not only clear and informative with ample amounts of explanations and practice opportunities, but extremely interesting. With information extracted from notable language theorists, learning strategies for students are provided that work. I know I will be using this book throughout my teaching career. Buy this book. Doris Siksek Muna is an energy healing practitioner, consultant and international instructor. She is the founder of Dorothea Healing Essences. Well Worth Reading!!!!

Before I started reading The Triangle of Health: Discover Your Healing Journey, I was frankly concerned that I would not understand the book, or even if I did, it would have little relevance for me. Thankfully, both of these concerns were unfounded.

The author effectively communicates in a logical, thoughtful and casual style the theoretical, as well as practical methods of various forms of diagnosis and treatment. What makes the book particularly compelling is that the author shares with us her journey in successfully dealing with personal medical challenges. As a result of this discovery, she became even more understanding and compassionate for those who face pain, whether emotional or physical, on a daily basis.

Self help books often promote a single "miracle cure" for all that ails us. The exact opposite applies to this book. The author guides us through a blend of holistic approaches for physical, mental and spiritual well-being. After reading this book, readers cannot help but become introspective in a constructive manner about chronic and nagging issues.

The author is clearly confident about her beliefs. Her passion for helping others jumps out of the book. She was born to be a natural healer.

What I liked about The Triangle of Health was its emphasis on the separation of symptoms and root causes. Alternative healing is focused on dealing with the root causes of ailments.
The author makes it clear that medications "often temporarily eliminate symptoms, but pose long-term challenges." I find this so true!
Finally, the three systems of healing (Chakras, Meridians, Flower essences) complement and support each other. It is triangulation: triple checking the symptoms and the results.

The Triangle of Health is an excellent primer to all fields of alternative and energy healing.

an easy and interesting read

I have always been curious about alternative healing but felt that there was so much out there, and that it all seemed conflicting. In this book Doris Muna brings together and draws parallels between different modalities and explains them in an uncomplicated and interesting way. And the tips at the end of the book are fun to implement! A very good read for anyone interested in energy healing and how it impacts our lives.

I read it and dog-eared it so much, it fell apart ...

One of the most remarkable discoveries one can make during a lifetime of stumbling and searching in darkness for the light switch to flip on and make sense out of life happened to me 30 years ago. Imagine a room you are perfectly familiar with in daylight turning at night into a virtual booby trap of stumbling over shoes, bumping against chairs, banging ones shin against footstools -- all familiar in the light, but not in darkness. And cursing. That is what my life had become 30 years ago -- long before Amazon existed -- when a friend recommended In Search of the Miraculous...Until then I was banging against the most ordinary things in life-- friendships, love affairs, colleagues at work who irritate me, bosses who blank, blank me off, etc. -- and hurting myself grievously. In Search was the light switch I turned on blindly, desperately 30 years ago... Chapter after remarkable chapter confirmed then what I know now: There is a light, we just have to find the light switch.

In Search of the Miraculous teaches us how to do precisely that -- by the power of the example of its author himself, mathematical philosopher Peter Ouspensky. It is Ouspensky's personal search, transformed into a manual for awakening conscience in the rest of us who try. And the light? Georg Gurdjieff's compression of the teachings of the Ancient Egyptians, the Desert Fathers, and Sufi Masters into a system of self-observation Ouspensky called the Fourth Way. A great introduction to esoteric Christianity/4th way teachings. This is a great read for one who is on the path and would like some literature to read in regards to the 4th way. Really helped me with greater comprehension and understanding of alchemical operations and self gnosis. Can leave one in a type of psychological vertigo but this ends as long as you continue tondo the work. I wouldn't recommend this for someone who just wants to delve into some philosophy or feed the intellect. This is a path of radical transformation and mystical death. Once you come to the path there is no going back. Your being brings you to this for a reason and to shun it later is a great spiritual tragedy. I love you all stay blessed.

After years of "searching" for a path that seemed "practical" this book brought it all together. Mr Gurdjieff traveled the realms of known and unknown in search of a way for mans life to have meaning and evolution.

Mr Ouspensky delivers the details of what Mr. Gurdjieff learned and taught in, at times, clear and concise terms, and at other times, almost incomprehensible esoteric ideas and old science......yet if one focuses on what one can comprehend, with time and multiple readings, these secrets to "why we are the way we are," and "what might be our true potential," are gradually and/or explosively revealed.

No aspect of "human nature" is left untouched and learning this knowledge will deepen ones own beliefs/faith whether Christian, Jew, Hindu, Islam etc.

It takes effort and it is not easy but it is as close to TRUTH as we can get.
